June 21, 2011

Dear Family,
Chelmsford has been getting drowned by rain over the past week. It is hard to stop people during the showers, but it is fun to try to. The other day I got splashed with water by a car, and my companion got defecated on by a beastly bird. Good times.
On Friday, Wing and I played some basketball at the chapel. This time, instead of wearing my trousers and collard shirt, I was strapped up in my Nikes and had some shorts on! It has been a basketball frenzy recently. They were all good situations where my companion and I were able to interact with potentials and less actives .
During this transfer, we were able to get close to this family from Florida. It consists of Merri(mother), Starla(daughter), Mike(BF). We previously went over and they made us some brownies, so we went over on Sunday and got them some cookies. We had a little chat and the invited us to come to their Sunday service. We went and it was a fantastic experience where we were able to have a better understanding about their background and their beliefs. That was the first time I had gone to another church on my mission. It was sweet. After we had a sort of munch and mingle and then we said our goodbyes. They left for Florida on Monday, but not Mike. We should be seeing him at basketball and church this week.
Tomorrow is transfers. I am getting another different companion and I am super excited. This one will be much different from my previous companions. Starting Tomorrow, my responsibility in the mission will rise. I am kind of nervous, but I was expecting it. I will never forget something that was told to me in the MTC. Someone said,"The Lord calls us when we are weak, but he qualifies us to do the work." This is a time of growth and progression. A time for me to help other missionaries grow. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have been blessed with to help guide. I know I am ready.
Love,
Elder Resolme
Ps. is it girl scout cookie season yet. I am dying for some samoas/thin mints
Good grief, everyone is getting their mission call and there are so many people coming home. How fun. Tell everyone I say HIIiiiiiii!
