Dear Family,

Thanks for the letters, I will do my best to reply.

One of the coolest things about working in Hyde Park is being around the Assistants to the President. Right now, they are Elder Jacob, and Elder Sikahema. They help me understand how I can improve as a missionary and become a better person. Over the past couple of days, Elder Zarian and I have been doing something I like to call AP OYMing(open your mouth). The Assistants are always in the office, but when they have time to find, they split up and stand on the two corners in front of the church.

Over the past couple of weeks my companion and I have utilized this method and we have seen many amazing results. Although we are a couple of feet apart and not together, we are comfortable because of our knowledge about the gospel, which is growing stronger after each passing day, and the faith that we have to find those who are prepared.

A couple of days ago, I stopped a man who asked me what I was doing and why I was out in the cold standing on the corner. I told him who I was and my purpose and he told me that what I was doing was a waste of time. He consistently asked questions and he tried to make me falter, but I kept calm because the things I told him are true. The gospel is true! He stated that everybody tries to understand the truth, but nobody actually does. I felt so bad for him, I was not angry at all, just sad about his lack of knowledge.

His final words to me were," nobody will ever listen to anything that you have to say."(obviously false!) My departing words to him were, " All I can do is try."

We are not expected to be perfect, but we are expected to try our best. I know the truth, and I am grateful that I do. That is why I am in London.

Love,
Elder Resolme

P.S. I got a blast from the past on Sunday. As I was walking through the church during singles, I saw someone who looked a little familiar?! San Diego familiar! I will post a picture of who it is later.

To that person: I KNOW YOU ARE READING THIS, I WILL BE CALLING YOU IN A COUPLE OF DAYS!

Dear Family,

I have another new companion. His name is Elder Zarian and he is from Utah. He is different from my other companions, but I have learned a good amount from him over these past couple of days. We have already had some funny experiences. Here are two of them. 1) While we were street contacting, I got shoved fairly hard by a big homeless man 2) Some girl thought I was asking her on a date, she was pretty disappointed when we wanted to share a message about the gospel at the chapel. I think there is a limit to the phrase, "flirt to convert."

Right now we again have some key solid investigators. I will share some stories about them later. They are AMAZING!

I love the people here in London. I love teaching. I love the gospel. I love the truth. I love being a missionary.

Love,
Elder Resolme

Nov. 30, 2010 (old e-mail)

I apologize for how un-organized the dates are. This is his e-mail the week to us when he got transferred from Enfield to Hyde Park, in London. He has been in Hyde Park for about a month & a half now.

Dear Family,

We just got a call yesterday that I am getting transferred..... It feels like I arrived in Enfield a couple days ago and now I am leaving. This morning I packed most of my things and then we went off to see some investigators. I was pretty down because I would not be in Enfield to see all the investigators progress, but I know that I am needed to do work somewhere else. I also have some pictures on my camera, but I left them at the Bishop's house, so you might get to see them next p-day. They are the best. Tonight, we have one last appointment and then missionary correlation. Then I have to pack more to be ready for tomorrow.

Although I am leaving, I am grateful to be in a new area, and I am thankful that I have the ability to go and serve.

" The standard of truth has been erected: No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing, persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth will go forth boldly nobly and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the great Jehovah shall say, the work is done." -Joseph Smith

It does not matter where I am, because the work is not done. Unless the Mission President calls tonight to switch my new assignment, I will be serving in Hyde Park!!! It will be so much fun presenting our message to all of the tourists!

I am trying my best to answer all the letters I have. It might take a while, but I am on it. Who would have thought that there would be no time to write letters on P-day. Oh yea, Happy late Thanksgiving.

Love,
Elder Resolme

Dear Family,

Highlights: New Investigators-Confirmation-LDS Vagabonds

This past week, we have gained a couple new investigators! One of the greatest things about serving in Hyde Park, is that EVERYONE knows where the chapel is. All we have to say is that it is right across from the Science Museum or next to the V&A Museum. We have done that with many people on the street and thankfully this week, we were able to establish two solid investigators. One is a student from the college right across the street. Her name is Laura. The lesson went amazing and she came for Sacrament Yesterday! The other new investigators name is Paul. he is from Egypt and we found him outside Earl's Court Station. We accidentally took a wrong exit coming out of the station, but instead of going back in and going the right way, we street contacted. I was hesitant to stop him at first, but because of PMG( Talk to everyone) he was stopped. We set up an appointment and he came! We were going to extend a baptismal date, but we ran out of time. The Hyde Park District has been on fire over the past month. I am grateful to be apart of the England London Mission( best mission ever).

Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. Without him, I know I would not have the joy that I have right now. Being on a mission has benefited me in many ways already. Although I have gained a stronger understanding concerning the Doctrine, I have felt a consistent peace and happiness that I have never felt before. I know I am doing the Lords work and that I am his representative here on earth. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve.

Merry Christmas. Thank you for everything. Thanks for the packages fam/SR2. The office Elders say thank you for the food as well.

Love,
Elder Resolme

Happy Birthday Sariah! Today was P-day and all of us wanted to wish you a happy birthday!
Dear Family,

This past week was insane. For New Years, we watched Disney films with the whole District. We watched Toy Story 3, How to train A dragon, and Hercules. It was okay, but what was more fun, was going out to lunch with a potential investigator!

One of the people we are now going to start teaching is named John. He is a member referral and he is very interested in learning about whether or not there is a God. He has had some strong feelings about religion over the past couple months, and now he is starting to take actions on those feelings. One of the cool things that he brought up during lunch was a question. It was something like," Can you see someones spirit?" We kind of re-phrased it into the light of Christ, and he expanded on his words and stated that in some people, it kind of just illuminates. He said that it is cool to see that some people just radiate, while others do not. He also talked about looking into their eyes. Sometimes, it is easy to tell someones spirit by looking into someones eyes.

This idea brought about a flood of things into my mind. I remembered a scripture in Matthew that says," 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light." He said, that the scripture was exactly what he was thinking about.

He is a great person who wants to know the truth, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to help him understand.

After this lunch appointment, I asked myself the question, " What are some of the things that I can do, to radiate the spirit?"
I think about this question everyday, and I figure out things I need to change in myself. I will never be perfect, but I know I can come closer and closer as I change my life and align it with that of the saviors, and as I work towards being better, that spirit which John talked about will grow stronger and stronger. I cannot wait!!

Happy birthday Sariah! I love you!

Love,
Elder Resolme
