Feb. 22, 2011

Dear Family,
These past couple of days have been pretty tough for the ward as well as for some of the missionaries in the zone. On Sunday, the stake president announced new boundaries for the ward. After hearing the new boundaries, we realized that some of the main families who have been supporting the ward were getting relocated. There were obviously many members who were upset, but this relocation process took much prayer from the leaders to understand the will of the lord. Although they will be gone from Hyde park, they will be building/strengthening the kingdom in their new boundaries.
Tomorrow ends my six month mark. I cannot believe that it has already been six months! I feel like I just arrived yesterday. Last night all the missionaries waited for the zone leaders to make the moves calls. We were at a members house for dinner(more Indian food), but we immediately dashed out before nine to get back to the flat and get the calls. I was on a work over so I was at the assistant flat and instead of listening to the zone leaders, I just talked to the AP's to see where everyone was going. One of the missionaries that I have been learning from(Elder Sikahema), will be moving as well as my fellow Hyde park missionary Elder Schow. I love serving around them because of their diligence and love, but I also know that they will be building Zion in their new areas.
We have a couple solid investigators, who we are preparing for baptism in the next couple of weeks. I am confident that they will follow the example of Jesus Christ as they keep their commitments.
Who just got their mission calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Family,
From what I read, Looks like everything back home is going good! That is great. A couple days ago James Alexander Short O'Donnell got baptized! We have loved meeting with him and watching him progress. He is the nicest person I have met here in London so far. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with him over the past couple of months. When he got baptized, I was overcome with the spirit. I knew then that another one of Heavenly fathers children returned back into the fold.
The family that had been fellow shipping Jim lives in Utah, but they flew over for the weekend for the baptism. The Wright family are a great example of what it means to be forever missionaries. Missionary work does not begin when we get our call, nor does it end when we finish our mission. It starts when we receive our testimony and ends when the great Jehovah shall say the work is finished. After the baptism we all gathered and had dinner. I had the opportunity to give the toast. I would have been more comfortable giving a talk/prayer, but having the opportunity to give the toast was memorable. I love my mission. I will tell you more in my letter. I now love Indian food.
This past week we also had zone conference. One of the things that I will never forget from the conference was said by one of the missionaries. He said," A mission is not a sacrifice, it is preparation for the eternity." There have been tough times in my mission, but I know that this experience will help me in the eternities.
Happy Valentines Day.
Thanks Shupe Family for the Card/Sweets. I totally forgot about this day.
Love,
Elder Resolme

Dear Family,
I am currently reading the Book of Mormon over again. I remember when I used to hate reading!? Now, every spare moment that I have, I am either reading the Book of Mormon, Preach my Gospel, or I am eating something with chicken in it. I still love chicken very much. It is everywhere!
I just finished the first couple chapters where Laman and Lemuel get rebuked by an angel for taking their anger out on their younger brothers. Even though they do get overcome by an angel, they still murmur right after. It is confusing to understand, but looking back on my mission thus far, I can see myself in their position. Although I have been on my mission for only six months (its gone by so fast!!), I have had my good share of miracles. These miracles put me on a spiritual high, but sometimes, I get frustrated with the people we talk to on the street and those we teach because some of the things they say are ignorant.
One of the things that helps me overcome these feelings of anger, is remembering all of the things that I have received from my mission thus far. I am grateful for being in London, and sharing a message I know is true. I am grateful for the knowledge about the gospel that I have attained. I am grateful that I can serve and be physically able to walk around London doing good work. I am grateful to have an umbrella when it starts to rain. I am grateful for the scriptures, family,.......Being grateful is what helps me everyday. Whenenever something in your lives starts to go sour, remember the good times. I promise that as you do, there will always be a smile on your face. It has worked for me so far!
Love,
Elder Resolme
PS. If you have not sent the things yet, could you put in two boxes of teeth whitening strips(one for me and one for my Armenian missionary). Unfortunately, my teeth are starting to get yellow....Thanks.
