Apr. 18, 2011

Dear family,
One of the things that I love, is teaching! These past couple of days, we have been finding like crazy. We had over thirty hours of finding last week. After each day I was exhausted, but it is so cool. The teaching pool when I got here was basically dead, now it is rising from the dust!!! We had a couple fantastic appointments last week. We also extended many baptismal invitations. We will work with those whom we found to come unto Christ and to gain a stronger understanding on their purpose in life. I remember when it was my first transfer, I was not really able to understand my investigators fully because I only taught. Now that I have grown, I am able to teach to their needs. I know that it has only been a little while, but I am different. It is weird, but great. Studying the scriptures in the morning has really helped me.
Yesterday I also gave a talk. I spoke about my thoughts on general conference. I referred to the talk given by Richard J. Maynes(seventy). He spoke about Christlike traditions. The funny thing about the talk was, that the audio for the chapel was not working. So I was basically yelling at everyone! I felt like a missionary of old on top of a wooden box, teaching to crowds. What a fun experience.
One of the things I need to start doing more, is cooking. The thing is I do not know how to cook Filipino recipes. Send me some please! Yesterday, I also found out that there is one Filipino person in the ward. She is ilocano! I have been talking to a good amount of Filipinos here as well. We will see what happens to them in the near future. Thank you for the e-mails. Keep on doing the things that help you feel the spirit and you will be blessed with happiness. Love each other always. Nobody is perfect, stop looking at people imperfections, and find what they excel in. I have implemented that on my mission, and I feel closer to Christ and my heavenly father. Thank you for everything.
Congrats auntie daisy. If you are having a hard time determining names. You could call him Jared or call her Jaredita. Both sound like fine names to me.
Love,
Elder Resolme
